LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR OF THEATRE
Dear Prospective Theatre Student,
Choosing an undergraduate program can be difficult and even
fearful. Do you choose the school with the most money? With
the team you like? One with a large student body? Many majors?
Do you stay in state or go out of state? Do freshmen have
casting and design opportunities? And what degree do you
need: BFA, BA, or BS? And on and on, the questions and thoughts
abound.
At Troy University Department of Speech and Theatre we are
convinced that even though youve achieved a major
milestone in your life with graduation, there are still
many questions about yourself and your future.
TROY UNIVERSITY THEATRE takes great pride in producing recognized
excellent theatre, professional training and opportunities
offered (and demanded) of our students, and a solid, aggressive
academic curriculum the program revolves around. In addition
to that we are committed to our strong open-door and FAMILY
atmosphere that fosters a bond between faculty and students.
We simply love what we do and are committed to providing
our students with the necessary tools to meet success in
the future. Theatre is not an easy major or profession (as
many would think) and demands not only academic but a strong
personal and professional commitment.
I would like to take this opportunity to ask you to take
a closer look at our program, our opportunities, and our
potential service to you and your future. Let this serve
as an invitation to be our guests on campus to see a production,
attend a rehearsal, class, and audition/interview for a
scholarship.
Please feel free to contact me by phone, e-mail, or with
a personal visit.
Adena H. Moree, MFA, Associate Professor
Director of Theatre
