Jason
Ramsey
(Stephen)
A
sophomore
orginally
from
Chancellor,
AL,
Ramsey
has
spent
the
last
three
years
studying
acting.
During
this
time
he
has
performed
in
The
Miracle
Worker,
Many
Kind
Regards,
Clown's
Play,
Robber
Bridegroom,
Pied
Pipers,
and
A
Few
Good
Men,
for
which
he
received
an
Irene
Ryan
nomination.
Ramsey's
favorite
"Stephen"
line:
"You
tell
'em
it
was
Red
Ryder
and
from
now
on
he's
working
for
Number
One."
Ramsey's
thoughts
on
Stephen
(Red):
"He
has
no
ambitions
for
himself,
though
he
talks
a
big
talk.
Stephen
is
afraid
people
will
see
through
him,
when
it
come
down
to
it.
He
has
quite
an
imagination
and
will
sometimes
find
himself
staring
a
the
wall,
daydreaming
when
no
one
else
is
around
at
the
diner."

Rebecca Abercrombie (Angel) A freshman from Enterprise,
Abercrombie is making her college debut as "Angel" in When
You Comin Back, Red Ryder, but she is no stranger to theatre.
An English and theatre major at Troy University, she performed
in J.B., Inherit the Wind, and Spoon River Anthology while
in high school, where she also directed Spoon River Anthology.
Abercrombie's
favorite
"Angel"
line:
"I
know
more'n
you
think,
Stephen."
Abercrombie's
thoughts
on
Angel:
"There's
a
tragedy
to
be
found
in
a
girl
with
such
warmth
being
judged
by
appearance
alone.
But
she's
so
comfortable,
and
I
like
her.
It's
enjoyable
filling
her
little
white
shoes!
Sometimes
she
might
be
a
little
over-friendly...
But
she's
lonely,
I
think,
despite
her
outwardly
carefree
demeanor."

David
Culpepper
(Lyle)
A
native
of
Altha,
FL,
Culpepper
is
a
Troy University
graduate
with
a
B.S.
in
Communication
Arts,
Dramatic
Track,
currently
pursuing
a
Masters
in
Language
Arts.
While
at
Troy University,
he
has
appeared
in
Breakfast
at
Dreamland,
Two
Gentlemen
of
Verona,
Kiss
Me,
Kate,
Annie
Warbucks,
One
Flew
Over
the
Cuckoo's
Nest,
A
Few
Good
Men,
The
Miracle
Worker,
Many
Kind
Regards,
and
The
Robber
Bridegroom.
Culpepper's
favorite
Lyle
line:
"I
just
want
to
see
you
out
of
here
and
us
no
worse
off
than
we
are
now."
Culpepper's
thoughts
on
Lyle:
"Lyle
is
a
symbol
of
the
old
America,
where
honor
had
meaning
and
the
flag
bound
a
nation
--
the
generation
that
weathered
the
Great
Depression
and
two
World
Wars.
His
being
crippled
epitomizes
the
fact
that
this
country
has
also
been
crippled
and
will
never
be
the
same
again.:

Ronnie
Jackson
(Clark)
This
freshman
from
Ozark,
AL
made
his
theatrical
debut
with
the
Troy
Sate
University
Theatre
department.
Jackson
played
the
role
of
Lysander
in
A
Midsummer
Night's
Dream
and
was
in
the
company
of
Troy University's
Spring
1999
musical,
The
Robber
Bridegroom.
Jackson's
favorite
"Clark"
line:
"Nickels
don't
grow
on
trees,
boy
--
leastwise,
not
one
the
ones
in
the
Clark
yard."
Jackson's
thoughts
on
his
role:
"I
have
heard
people
say
that
a
role
that
is
small
is
unimportant.
I
have
decided
that
these
people
are
wrong,
and
that
a
part
is
important
no
matter
the
size.
A
playwright
would
not
put
a
character
in
a
play
unless
he
felt
the
character
was
important
to
the
storyline."

of
Demetrius

A
Midsummer
Night's
Dream
and
also
played

role
of
Jamie
Lockhart
in
The
Robber
Bridegroom.
Herring's
favorite
"Richard"
line:
"It's
a
Guarnerius.
Sometimes
I
think
my
wife
has
an
added
appendage."
Herring's
thoughts
on
the
show:
"There
can
be
no
weak
link
or
the
show
will
suffer.
I
can
be
compared
to
a
musical
quintet.
There
may
be
one
or
two
carrying
the
melody,
but
no
one
can
play
out
of
tune."

wasn't
aware
I
was
under
any
obligation
to
carry
on
a
conversation."
Jarrell's
thoughts
on
Clarisse:
"She
likes
to
believe
there
is
such
a
thing
as
happily
ever
after…
that
she
would
be
the
lucky
one
to
find
the
knight
on
the
white
horse…all
wrapped
up
in
a
marquis-cut
solitaire.
Her
husband
doesn't
really
understand
her…but
how
can
she
expect
him
to
when
sometimes
she
doesn't
understand
herself.

mind,
boy?
--
Way
back
in
the
corners
where
you've
never
been
before?
Don't
let
it
touch
ya,
boy,
ya
hear
me?
Ya
do
and
it's
just
liable
to
eat
you
whole."
In
this
quote
by
Thomas
Wolfe,
Capps
sums
up
his
thoughts
on
Teddy:
"Which
of
us
has
known
his
brother?...
Which
of
us
has
looked
into
our
Father's
heart?...
Which
of
us
is
not
forever
a
stranger,
and
alone?"

"It
doesn't

like
performing
for
an
audience

getting
an
exhilarating
response.
I
absolutely
love
it."
